 MIRRORING This was the last week of my student teaching practice.  I have enjoyed my  teaching experience. It has been difficult, frustrating, rewarding and fun. I think my philosophy of being flexible, going with the flow and learning as much as I can has reaped dividends. I let things wash over me during the start of my internship. This helped me to find my feet, establish a good classroom routine and get to know the students as people first and then as students second. School Experience On August 15th, as a part of independence day we were assigned to reach school for attending the flag hosting and parade ceremony. It was a grand experience and the programs we arranged in a systematic order and we, teacher trainees of SNTC  conducted competition of making portraits of freedom fighters or national flag using echo friendly materials.  MIRRORING  Teaching experience is the culmination of skills, exposure or training acquired over time that enables me to perform an existing job better or prepare me for a teaching position. Teaching experience is important to the development of a unique teaching style, teaching skills and self-confidence. School Experience As Usual we used to reach college by 9.00am and move to sign the register. We had assembly on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. August 9th was leave for us as a part of "Bakreeth". This week had been a tough week. I had a lot of portions to be covered, hence I was running for free periods to complete it. On Friday , last hour we have decided to conduct a Poster on ROAD SAFETY for 8th standard students. Almost all the students from class 8th have done it.   REFLECTION This week's climate was not favourable. Due to heavy rainfall in the majority of Kerala's districts on August 2 and 3, the district collector declared holidays. There were therefore only 3 working days. School Experience We arrived at the school at 9:15 a.m. every day, and we signed the register. Every day, we provided lunch for the students at the mess hall, which was a truly positive experience for all of us. On August 4th, Vidyarangam Kala Sahitya Vedi held a competition for folk songs.  Class Experience I got to take only 6 periods in this week. I got an opportunity to supervise my peer Sruthy's class as a part of examination.  August 5th Viji teacher came for our 2nd observation. I had class  in the 4th hour in 9C. I was very much tensed because I was going to take a chapter that was tough for them to understand. MIRRORING Another week has come ang gone, and it was full of experiences. I am much happier to be here and proud to be a teacher. School Experience I used to arrive at the school promptly each day, and in the morning and afternoon, I sign the register. Every day, pupils receive food from the school cafeteria. One of our regular routines that helped us become more responsible was this. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are designated as assembly days. Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, our former president and missile man of India, passed away on July 27. On his memory, in the school assembly  a student spoke about Kalam Sir's contributions to the advancement of India. On this day, students from the UP division produced lovely posters. The SPC was very smoothly and actively working in the school. Our children Hridya Premjit and Anjana PS won the first position in the sub-district level constitution quiz competition.   REFLECTION Immersing myself and taking advantage of every opportunity given to me was really enriching my teaching experience.  What I found was that teaching was the perfect time to think outside of the box and try different things. If they didn’t work, they didn’t work. At least, I got to try them in a safe environment. And in the process, I got to work on vital skills for teaching, such as classroom management.  School Experience In this week, we got an unexpected holiday as a result of KSU strike on July 20.   On July 21,in the morning session many programmes were held in the school on the ocassion of "Moon Day". There were a quiz competition conducted as a part of "MOON DAY" and Bhagya and gouri from the UP session won the prize. On July 21st , a PTA meeting was held to raise an awareness about Cyber bullying. The meeting was conducted for almost 2 hours in the afternoon session.   RETROSPECT Teaching is not just a job that I perform because I expect a reward at the end of each month; it is my passion and I feel extremely satisfied with every successful lesson. I like to help the society, and teaching gives me a great opportunity to do so. I am passionate about educating my students, so I work with them and motivate them to lead them to find inspiration in learning . I use different strategies to engage them and share with them the knowledge . School Experience I used to reach the school by 9:00 a.m. daily and sign the attendance register by 9:45 a.m. Quiz competition on World Population Day was organised by the school and I was assigned for supervision. Health Department collected blood samples of SPC and JRC students. In all regular working days we go for supplying food for students which was quite interesting.
